Maybe the last post?

For anyone who reads this - I probably won't be making many posts for awhile. I'm going to start posting more pictures to facebook where only friends can see them. I don't like having this blog open where anyone (strangers) can view it. So if you aren't a friend on facebook, please add me as a friend! And if you're not on facebook, get on it! It's very easy!

Pictures

Here are some pictures of the kids! Zander is 2 weeks old.

The beautiful cake at my baby shower!

Madison still uses her bouncy seat (as a recliner) so she wanted to take a picture of her and her brother in their bouncy seats.

I came in the room to see Madison using our boppy and feeding her baby. She is just too precious. She loves taking care of her babies and now she's really copying what we do with Zander.

Here are some pictures of Zander's room. It's not 100% done, but it's close. We spent most of today working on it. I just love his bedding. We are almost done with Madison's room (waiting on one more piece of furniture) and I'll post pictures when it's completed.

Welcome Zander!!

Hey everyone!

Well, Zander is now home and we are all doing great. It's been a crazy week!

We got the call Friday morning that the birth mother's water broke. So we pretty much waited all day till they were ready for us to come to the hospital (when she was dialated about a 6 or 7). I spent Friday rushing around cleaning the car seat, bottles, and what little clothes we had. They called us about 4:30 and she was an 8 so we rushed up there thinking we would miss it. Well, she didn't deliver till 8:30 so there was no need for us to rush. And we didn't eat dinner that night till 11:00...I was starving. :) The doctor and nurses let me stand right behind them so I saw everything, Brad cut the cord, and then they had Brad and I come over and watch him get cleaned off and stuff. We spent Saturday at the hospital and had lots of visitors. Madison did great with him. She was very happy, but then 10 seconds later, was interested in something else. Typical toddler. We took him home on Sunday and so far so good. He eats well and spends most of his time sleeping. Oh, and I've already been peed on! Sheesh...they aren't kidding about boys peeing everywhere. :)

But we are loving life and enjoying it all.

Madison is doing great with Zander. She checks on him every once in a while, but mostly just does her own thing. We are still taking her to the sitter for a few days a week just to keep up a routine and so she can also have a break and play with her friends.

Zander is great. We took him to the dr this week b/c we thought he was looking jaundice, but the dr thought he was looking great!

Summer pictures

Here are some pictures taken over the last few weeks.

Madison playing with shaving cream. It's great b/c she can draw pictures and make a mess, but it disappears on its own and smells good. :)

Madison dancing around in her tutu and princess wand.

Playing in the pool

This is what Madison looks like...

...when she dresses herself. :) She can wear anything she wants at home, but I dress her when we go out. So far, she's pretty good about not caring if I dress her, but I sense the day is coming soon when she will want to go out in public dressed by herself. Watch out world!

San Antonio family vacation

We just got back from our first family vacation and it was so much fun! We drove down to San Antonio, TX and spent several days there at Sea World, museums and the riverwalk. And of course, the hotel pools. :) Madison did great on the 8-9 hour drive and just played with her toys, watched DVD's and took naps. What a great girl! We stayed at the Hilton Country Spa hotel right across from Sea World. I would recommend this hotel to anyone...we will definitely stay there again! It was beautiful and kid friendly at the same time. We stayed in a suite so Madison could have her own room (we cannot sleep in the same room or Madison thinks it's playtime). I wish we had the video camera going when we walked into our hotel room (Madison's first hotel stay). She ran around touching the tub, sink, couch, bed, etc. saying "Wow" over and over. She was so excited. The hotel had three pools - one kiddie pool, one regular pool and a lap pool. Madison LOVED swimming in the kiddie pool every evening. We all had such a great time and we can't wait to go back in a couple of years!!
